    The slide out on a round about is bull. If your going to mention it, at least mention that you were right in the middle of a super oily part of the round about. That whole middle was covered in oil

    Bought a 2024 Vstrom 800RE, replacing a 2014 Yamaha Super Tenere ES, which I loved but was getting too heavy for my 69 years. The Vstrom is great for around town, twisty roads, and non-highway touring. The Vstorm is very maneuverable at low speeds, in the garage, and is a joy on curves. On the highway, its buzzy over 65 MPH and you feel it in your feet and hands. It does seem to level out a bit over 75 mph, but the buzz is still there. Is it touring bike? - definitely, if you are not spending 8 hours on a US interstate. If so, then get a bigger bike with cruise control. The seat is narrow, hard, and okay for an hour or two without a break. This is not the motorcycle I would take for an iron butt; it would be the bike I'd want for a comfortable daily rider that could be pressed into service for a two-day trip down the coast.

    Ive been riding both the 1290 r and own the Crf1100l adventure sport ES myself, I agree with most of your point. With the low speed maneuver for the AT, I've found out if you increase the preload and changing the suspension to off-road mode the handling will improve significantly. If you change the damping to hard setting the AT will be more precise and less heavy in very slow speed handling but we have to sacrify in little bit of plushness.

    I prefer The Tracer 9. Its really capable at anything the versys 1000 can do. Tracer 9 suits me better, because its lighter nimble, cheaper to maintain and better on fuel economy. Tried attach 3 fully loaded box with passager on both bike the Tracer 900 feels more stronger at low torque more instant power and more capable when you go uphill. But both bikes are AWESOME highway highspeed cruise. 👍

      It’s two different segments and so the purpose and the whole idea is different. Unless you mean Super Duke GT that I personally would be interested in in comparison to the Super Adventure. I like them comfy so Super Adventure is generally my pick.

    No TPMS on the Kawasaki? So what? I check my tires and air pressure before every ride. And once the TPMS sensors go south, you're probably looking at an expensive visit to the dealership. Otherwise, I like V-Told's reviews.

      Well, exactly - then it’s only safe if you check before every single ride. I’ve had a friend who crashed due to too low pressure while riding on wet. Crashed twice during the same ride… I’ve been having TPMS in my two cars for the last 9 years and so far so good with no malfunctions. I really would recommend it. There are aftermarket ones too.

    I’ve seen and read many reviews but you’re the first one complaining about suspension on this bike…have you adjusted the front and rear suspension at all?

      Clearly you’ve only watched people who like it in this particular way so far. I’ve got different preference so I state that openly. There are competitors that suit me better - I’ll be making comparisons between them this year.

    I bought my 2021 Versys in July 22. I use Shinko E 705 tires and have ridden some serious gravel, some sand, and various non paved places. Not my preference but the bike handles it all very well. It has dropped five times at extreme low speeds and shows some scars. One day I rode it for 750 km with no problems. Last summer in one session I spent 18 hours with the bike. I had to get away from forest fires in BC. I like my bike. It also looks great in its dark grey, red and silver livery. I have added a windshield extension, Givi crash bars, wider foot pegs, heated grips and plugs ins for USB and cigarette lighter. I am just short of 24,000 km on the odometer and ready for its next complete warranty check over before that expires in August. Fastest speed I reached was 180 km/hr. An American rider clocked me at 110 miles per hour last summer on Hwy 93, the Banff/Jasper Parkway. I am 73. If your life is boring, get a motorcycle. It is Never 2 Late.

    Ive owned one for a year, for the cons -the suspension for front and rear is fully adjustable so you can make it softer (not just preload. They also make harder and softer springs) -mine shoots a liquid out as well not sure what it is gonna take it and ask the dealer soon - for the power its meant to be a giant dirt bike for offroading its a Tenere 700 but better - i agree the fuel cap is a bad design choice my personal pros/cons (no order) i noticed while owning; -For any serious offroad riding the brake and shifter lever designs are AWFUL. The pivot bolt can be broken with just your hand if pulled! and the cast aluminum does not bend. needs to be switched out for stronger bolt and steel for more bending when dropped(there are aftermarket options) -Need to pay extra for a media plug in in order to connect phone and get tire pressure gauge reading and navigation. -glad cruise control was stock but wish heated grips were stock as well. -does not come stock with tail rack which for an ADV bike is ABSURD -The passenger foot pegs are a broken leg waiting to happen and a bad design I immediately took them off and filled the hole with a plastic plug -noticed my rear brake fluid dirties rather quickly possibly not fully sealed not sure if happens on other bikes or just mine -Stock pegs are great with the rubber insert and removed but they brake easily as they're thin -stock skid plate is trash for anything other then gravel or packed dirt roads which the bike was designed to do basically everything but hardcore single track enduro stay away from trex racing skid plate for this bike as the end smacks the suspension links -ive heard complaints about the CAT being hot but its never bothered me, personally im gonna do a full exhaust switch to get rid of it and get better sound, TQ, HP, and weight savings. If this too an expensive option you can always wrap the stock pipe in heat wrap and it helps alot -for me the seat is amazing but thats me coming from my only other bike having been a Gen 3 KLR 650 and im not too picky about comfort -small dealer network can make getting parts very hard -owners manual says "take to certified aprilia dealership" for everything cant think of anything else at the moment but other then these which are all fixable in one way or another (except the leak and brake fluid thing still not sure on those), with that siad EVERYTHING else on the bike is PERFECT, low CG, Good tank size, Lightest mid size adv on the market, plenty of suspension travel and ground clearance, riding modes, 2 of which are full customizable, not too tall, Personally love the old school red white and blue colors, plenty of low TQ and can easily go 125mph without problem, great balance and control all through out and for the price its amazing i have personally fixed all the issues listed and its the perfect bike and have 0 regrets of my purchase only thing left is too see the reliability in the long run

    This is a great bike and I am very happy to own one. Two things that annoy me are the heat coming from the engine and the seat which is not very comfortable. But maybe my butt is not compatible with the seat, who knows? 😀

    What I heard is that charging the front sprocket from 15 teeth to 17 helps immensely with the lackluster wnging performance you talked mentioned.

      I had changed de front sprocket from 15 to 16 teeth,the gain is cca 5-6 kmh at same rpm,nice. My conclusion is that worth this change for rider. If you'll travel with pillion and many luggages,not...keep the 15.

    I’ve tried it and it felt fantastic. Might buy it later this summer. Might not be as good for long distance touring as my versys 1000, but that’s the trade-off one has to do for more off-road capability, I guess.

    I have got same bike for 1 year now. It's so true, what you're saying about leaning this bike in fast short corners.. i was suprise at first, the i got to use it. This is great bike anyway, yust dont push it over the limit.

    If you are only riding these bikes on tarmac then sure, the Adventure is probably the way to go. Save yourself some money and get the more comfortable bike. But, if you want to do a lot more gravel and dirt roads and tracks like I do, then the Adventure is just not up to the same level as the Adventure R. The suspension alone is worth the upgrade price.

    should be a comparison between the versys and BMW 1250rs, The BMW 1000xr is a sport bike for solo tall riders.. I own a versys 1000 SE GT 2019 version. Great for two up and loaded full luggage, just a mile muncher is comfort for rider and pillion. There are rumors of Kawasaki maybe working on a H2 version of the versys for a future model. Brakes when adjusted to the rider I find the front is better and less pressure needed to work,the rear I use to just stabalise the versys on some bends but help on braking. If the versys was lighter but with a drive train would be interesting.
